On August 16th, Yik Yak fans were able to find their favorite application. The announcement of the return came after four years of absence. Shut down in 2017 due to cyber bullying, theapp has new owners and is back to its core functionality. These owners also give it a new look with several community options.

Yik Yak: a comeback with new features

Launched in 2013, Yik Yak functions as a social network. Its goal is to create a connection between users anonymously. In its early days, the platform allows users to connect anonymously with people within a five-mile radius of the user. The individuals within the five-mile circle are the herds. A message posted on the platform is called a "yak" and is automatically visible to the herd. Yik Yak also works through a rating system. A yak is rated by users and then appears on a news feed. The best rated yaks are at the top of the feed.

After announcing its return in 2021, it is only available in the US. Also, PC users can't download it. It is only accessible on Apple Store, that is, for iPhone users. Yik Yak is already announcing the development of its activities outside the United States. Other countries will soon be able to use it.
