WiZ

WiZ is a free downloadable connected lighting app. Available on Android and iOS, it can also be installed on Windows PC via Google Play Store and on MacBook via an emulator. Developed in 2015 in Hong Kong by Jean-Eudes LEROY, Jérôme LEROY and Jean-Philippe GAL, it was then acquired by Signify, which is none other than the Philips company.

Purpose of the application and features

The WiZ application works by connecting directly to the home wifi network and allows to control one or several bulbs remotely via one or several smartphones. This is to facilitate the daily life of its users. After downloading WiZ and connecting to the wifi network, one can indicate the room in the house where the bulb will be used, and then manage the different lighting settings such as color, intensity, ambiance etc.

The settings are stored in the cloud and can be changed to suit individual needs. The system can be shared and used by all members of the household. One will even be able to establish a lighting routine according to each room. This light management system is also applicable in the professional field, it could very well find its place within a company for example.
