Russian social networking site, VK or VKontakte is similar to Facebook. It is a very popular social network in Russia. The site is a pioneer in Belarus, and ranks third in Kazakhstan. In addition to being a favorite social network for students and college graduates in its home country, the application is also a communication tool in the Russian community, regardless of age.

Specific features of VK

The VK application was created by Pavel Dourov in 2014. It represents a very famous social network in Russian-influenced countries and aligns with Facebook without problems. It has a chat and messaging app named Telegram Messenger. VK can be downloaded from Google Play, and works with Android smartphones and tablets. This application is not compatible with a PC, either on Windows or Mac.

VK is a business model and features a communication concept similar to YouTube's video portal, or Pandora's music site. VK allows an optimized management of the user's profile, and allows interaction with the profile of contacts and friends of the same network. It offers the possibility to share multimedia galleries including photos, music or video, and allows to play integrated games on the network.
