Tumblr is a platform launched in 2007. It is a microblogging site that looks like a mix of Twitter, WordPress and Facebook. Users can post text, images, videos, audio and links.
Tumblr is a network of millions of user-generated personal websites. It is partly a blogging platform (such as Wordpress, Blogger or Posterous) and partly a social networking service, allowing users to create and publish their own original content. When you first log in to Tumblr, you will arrive at your account dashboard. It's like the news feed on Facebook. The main feature that distinguishes Tumblr is that it divides the publications by type: text, photo, quote, link, chat, audio and video. The dashboard is a real-time list of all new content from all the blogs you follow. It is organized in chronological order. Many users browse the web to find the best and most interesting things they can find. It's up to you to decide what it is: hilarious videos, inspiring quotes, breathtaking photos?
Just like with Twitter, users have to follow a Tumblr account to follow it. The posts from all your tracked blogs appear on the dashboard (similar to a Facebook news feed) in reverse chronological order. Tumblr makes it easy to reorganize articles, while adding or not adding your own comment. Users can also like a message, a photo or a GIF.
Tumblr has not yet indicated if their app will be available for download on PC. Vote, contact this publisher now and let us know if he plans to develop this application !
